Cuteness alert!

Is this really the first blog I've titled this way? 4 months into Seth's life......I can't believe it.

Anyways, just a little story to end the week out.

Last night I was feeding Seth on the couch around 5pm. He was sleeping when Jeremy got home so this was the first they had seen each other all day. The whole entire time he ate he would eat for 2 minutes and then flop over and start talking to Jeremy. Then he would flop back and eat for a couple more minutes. Then he'd flop back and get a big grin on his face while talking to Jeremy. Almost like "oh yeah, I forgot to tell you Dada". Not really a picture moment, but definitely one of the (many) cutest things I've seen with the two of them and one to remember!

My in-laws start coming into town tonight and will be with us for over a week, so you won't hear from me until December! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving full of food, family and friends! : )

New stuff!

Seth got some new toys while we were in NY from both Grandma's and also Great Grandma. This little rubber ring has been a top choice and he found a new way to play with it!
He thinks he's pretty cute!

Being an Usborne consultant has me stocking the house with books quite regularly. Seth is loving it and has gotten pretty addicted to his 123 Counting book!

I absolutely LOVE watching him learn and grow! One of the many blessings of being a Mommy - especially a stay-at-home one : )

Buddies!

We found out about a month after Seth was born that we had neighbors on the other end of our building that went to our church and were also expecting their first child! After their little girl was born we brought them over dinner and have become pretty good friends ever since! They are both teachers and after finishing up their time off they had a random week where they could have put her in daycare, but asked if I would be willing to watch her - uhm, yes please!

Seth has loved having a buddy around to play with! He is always starring at her and whenever I feed her a bottle he just looks at me - I feel like I'm cheating on him! hahaha We are so glad to have friends so close by, both the adults and the baby : )

Prayer request:

When we found out we were pregnant with Seth one of the first thoughts that we both had (okay, maybe after a couple weeks) was that we were going to need to move. A one bedroom apartment just wasn't going to cut it. We figured we could stay put for a little while after Seth was born if we HAD to, but once we figured out we could transfer our current lease it was a pretty easy decision. Neither one of us were in a hurry to get into a house. We had talked about it with each move but we both were perfectly content being in an apartment and having a baby didn't change that for us.

I say didn't.

Having a baby in an apartment is far from convenient. Luckily, although we had planned on it, we haven't had to cry it out much with Seth. I would say we've had to do it more with him as he has gotten older and in his stubborn moments than we had to when he was little and were "training" him that it was sleepy time. But even still, I could count on one hand probably. But having neighbors on two sides of you and above you can get to be a bit much. They vacuum at all the wrong times. When they walk it can sound like the roof is going to fall in. And don't even get me started on the piano that they have.....and the times that they play it. Thankfully all of these noises phase Seth a whole lot less than they used to. I think he has gotten use to it and I have become more aware of it.

Needless to say, very quickly after Seth arrived we both realized how desperately we want to be in a house. Jeremy is ready to have a lawn to mow. I am ready to have a garage for storage and a beautiful kitchen. We are both ready for the "freedom". We know there are pros and cons. Obviously when you own a home you are responsible for everything. There will be no calling maintenance. But we are ready. We just want to make sure we know where we want to be long term before we buy a house. We have moved every single year since being married and once we are in a house I want it to be a bit more "permanent" for us.  So, we haven't really begun the process yet but there has been a lot of praying and I would love to ask you to join us in that! : )

Blessings

I wonder how many blogs I have titled as 'Blessings'.
It makes me smile to think that this isn't my first and I'm sure it won't be my last.

A couple months ago my car battery started giving us problems. It was after Seth was born so I obviously wasn't working and although we can live somewhat comfortably off of Jeremy's income, we certainly don't have much extra to speak of. We realized that the radio wasn't turning off when you open the driver side door anymore and it was just being left on until it drained the battery. So Jeremy jumped it and we charged it and we basically don't listen to the radio anymore (or at least I don't since I know I'll forget to shut it off).

Fast forward to now. This past week was a long one. As I've posted before I'm watching my two little buddies who I had before Seth arrived and I also watched our friends' infant daughter (who also happen to go to our church AND be our neighbors). Fridays are always special since it means Dada is home for 2 whole days, but when Friday arrived I just wanted to get out of the house with my little family. I had some shopping planned, we were going to grab dinner and have a relaxing Friday night together. I got Seth all packed up and we headed out the door. I'm sure you all know where this story is going. Yes, the car wouldn't start. We hooked it up to Jeremy's car and after about 30 minutes it still wasn't starting. So, Jeremy took the battery to the auto store and apparently battery "juice" is supposed to be around 600-700 and ours was running about 50! Good Lord! Seriously. What a Awesome God we serve. Now that I'm watching the girls and have some extra income with Usborne Books (more on that later) we have been able to have a little cushion and build up our savings. Making the necessary purchase of a new battery a little less scary than it would have been just two months ago.

Thank you Lord for your perfect timing and for always watching out for me and my family <3

Addicted

Aunt Sarah did an awesome job making Seth and Dada matching blankets. He has become quite attached to it in the past couple weeks after I brought it to NY with us.

Not only that, but she was also right on the money with the puppy snuggy that she got him (thank you Madalyn). I've gotten it out for him to play with a couple times, but for some reason I thought to grab it this past week when he went for his 4 month shots and ever since that day he has been attached to it. When he gets tired, give him his paccy and his puppy and he is as good as gone.

Pretty stinkin' cute if you ask me!!!!

4 months!

I can't believe our little guy is 4 months old! It seems like yesterday that I was still pregnant and then that we were bringing him home from the hospital. How has it been 4 months already?! Time flies when you're having fun and that's just what we have been doing : )

He still loves his fingers and tries to see how many he can fit in at once, but he has his favorites in times of comfort. He also has a new found love with his toes and is desperately trying to get them to his mouth. He is getting sick of laying on his play mat and only stays there for a short time. I think he is in that awkward stage where he wants to play like a big boy but doesn't quite know how. He likes to sit by the toys hanging off of the mat in his bumbo seat or else just lay on a blanket and have Mommy or Dada play with him. He loves tummy time. He is "talking" up a storm! I am totally loving this stage and the "conversations" that we have. I get an instant smile on my face when I hear the chatter coming from his room in the morning and after his naps. A rested baby is a happy baby! I think his first word is going to be "Hi". I swear he is already saying it LOL He is sleeping between 10-13 hours a night. Sometimes he needs his paccy through the night and sometimes he doesn't. He now finds comfort by rubbing his head, snuggling with his blanket & puppy and listening to his bedtime music. We went to the Doctor on Saturday for his 4 month well check. He weighed in at 12 pounds, 11.4 ounces (4th percentile) and is 24.75 inches long (28th percentile). I was ready to get yelled at from the Doctor when she came in but she actually didn't seem too bothered by his weight. She said we could add a feeding in during the day if we wanted to since he is sleeping so long at night, but I've already learned (the hard way) with Seth that if he doesn't want to eat, he doesn't want to eat. If he is tired he will either fall asleep on me or will pitch a fit - neither one works for me. He is getting what he needs and as long as he is growing I am happy and couldn't care less about the statistics! She also said we could start introducing foods to him if we wanted to because his neck control is so good and he can "sit up" so well, but we are going to wait until closer to 6 months. I think Christmas will be the perfect time to try out some fun flavors : )

As always, we did a fun little photo shoot. If you saw the amount of pictures I deleted you would see what a busy little boy we have. So many blurs of him giggling or chatting and diving for his toes : )

"Okay, Mommy. I'll smile but I need my fingers, too."

"This thing, again?"

"Can I play with it this time at least?"

"And yell at it?"

"And eat it?"

Timberrrrr...

"How's this, Mommy?"

I can't even....hahahaha

LOL!

My sweetheart <3

Too silly to give Mommy a tummy time pose, but we all know these aren't the last pictures I'll take of him : )

Short & Sweet

About a month ago Jeremy's high school teacher, coach and distant relative passed away. Jeremy was pretty sad about it and we wrestled with the idea of going home for his services. As badly as we wanted to be there, the tickets were obnoxiously priced with it being so last minute. Of course, in my planning I got myself pretty excited about the possibility of getting to see family, so when it fell through I was pretty heartbroken. So, we decided that Christmas was just too far away and we needed to make a quick trip up to NY. It was very short and rushed so we only got to see family, but it was much needed. We will get to see Jeremy's family in just a couple weeks for Thanksgiving as they are all making the trip to us this year, but I couldn't wait any longer to see my family again. That's one (of the many) thing that has definitely changed since Seth has been born. Family being so far away hurts even more now. Seth did absolutely fantastic with flying. He was either sleeping, eating or contently looking out the window!

Lots of snuggles...

Some "Halloween" treats - not really, but a good excuse to spoil these girls that I love so much and don't get to see hardly enough at ALL!

And some quality time chatting, crafting, playing and hanging out!

Trying out some cool weather attire!

And lots of Gramma time!

<3

He even got to meet some new family members!

Jeremy's parents took us back to the airport at the end of our visit, so we spent our last morning with them. Seth got a little fall present : )

So thankful for our families
and I can't wait for the fast approaching holidays!
