Jeremy got a 100% on his final and ended his semester with another 4.0 GPA. After he presented his capstone his professor told him that he was going to get an award for a distinguished performance in the field of Science and Math for Teachers.
It worked out that the award ceremony was while Jeremy's parents were here, so we snuck away just the two of us.....
Saying that I'm proud of him is an understatement!
We got a visit from the Thomas'! Jeremy was able to take a couple days off so we all had a long weekend together and had a great time!
I made a yummy treat for Mother's Day.....
Jeremy and his dad spoiled his mom and I on Mother's day...
...this was our breakfast!
That mug in the picture above and these
gorgeous, meaningful earrings were my gifts!
We played lots of games, ate yummy food,
Jeremy and his dad went golfing,
his mom and I got pedicures and went shopping
and the boys got tired out every day!
It was a short visit but we had so much fun with them. After they left Seth and I had to make a countdown chain for the next time we go to the Zoo, which will be when Dada is done working for the summer! Then we will make a chain for his birthday party and then a chain for our trip to NY! Lots of exciting things are coming and we are anxious for the school year to just end already!
*Side note: While Jeremy's parents were here we did a little van shopping. It is our goal to have one before our trip north this summer. We fell in love with one, but they were way overpriced and wouldn't budge, so we had to walk away. If you could pray with us for the right van to come along before the end of June, we would greatly appreciate it!*
When my parents were here last year, they inspired me (okay, they did all the work too) to do some landscaping with my flower beds and yard. Now I have the bug and looked forward to freshening everything up once spring arrived!
The trees got some fresh wood chips.....
I thought I lost my hostas, but they popped back up - so they just got some fresh dirt and some new flowers planted in between them.....
This flower bed is frustrating because our gutters leak like crazy when it rains despite everything we've done to fix that. So that front part where it's all dirt, used to be the flower bed, but it just continuously gets washed away. So I decided to just forget about it and make a little barrier to hopefully keep the rest nice and neat! Some fresh dirt and flowers planted here!
(those stones are for us to step on to get the hose on)
Then I found this cutie while shopping for my other supplies, so I popped him up on the porch instead of getting a flower pot.....
Do you enjoy yard work? What did you do this year?!
Sunday morning I woke up around 1am to Lucas coughing. I didn't think too much of it but I figured if it continued I'd go check on him. A while later I heard him again, so I hopped out of bed and went in to see if he needed water or if he was still sleeping. I walked in to a bed full of puke. I woke Jeremy up to help me so that we could get him and his bed changed. He seemed okay so we tucked him back in, but then it happened again so the 3 of us spent the rest of the night in the living room. He got sick a few more times in between passing out on me. Of course, once him and Dada were sound asleep, I was wide awake! I grabbed Jeremy's ipod since my phone was dead and found some adorable old pictures that I'm not sure I had ever seen (or at least never shared).
