The Angel Oak Tree

Last Saturday we spent the day with some friends of ours. We started out the morning going to yard sales, then went into downtown Charleston to visit a few markets and then do a carriage ride. It was kinda funny that we had the same tour guide that we had just a week before when we went with Jeremy's parents, but thankfully we got a different route so it was still interesting : ) After that, we had been hearing and seeing things about this "Angel Oak Tree", so we decided we needed to go see it. Here are some facts that I found about it and then some pictures!

"It is estimated to be between 300-400 years old: the tree towers 65 feet high and has a circumference of 25.5 feet. It's area of shade is 17,000 square feet and it's largest limb has a circumference of 11.5 feet, and a length of 89 feet. Live oaks are not particularly tall trees, but have wide spreading canopies. Only in the very old specimens do you find massive limbs resting on the ground, as you do the limbs of the Angel Oak. The City of Charleston acquired the Angel Oak Park in 1991."

Charleston is pretty cool : )

Thankful Thursday

It's not just the song, so take a listen...
it might just hit the spot today <3

Atlanta, Georgia

So, Syracuse basketball made it into the final four, which was being held at the dome in Atlanta, Georgia - which is only 4 and a half hours away from us, so Jeremy's dad decided that this opportunity was never going to present itself again, this close by, so they had to go : )
Happy Birthday Jeremy!!!!

Off we go!

Ice cream anyone?

Traffic was insane!

When we arrived, the guys took right off to the game, thankfully Jeremy's mom and I were able to find our own entertainment...

Aaaaaaaand the next morning ride home....LOL
His & Hers ; )

It was SO great to have family here to celebrate Easter with and to have some company for the week. Looking forward to the summer though, so we can escape some southern heat and get to see more family in NY! : )

Miscellaneous Fun : )

Here are some random pics from the week that were too little to have their own posts : )

On Easter Sunday we celebrated Jeremy's birthday a little bit with his parents and our friend Josh...

After we toured Fort Sumter on Monday we went and did a carriage ride tour of downtown Charleston!
This is my buddy : )

There were probably like a dozen carriage ride companies in one block!

Or we could have done this...LOL

Lazy nights after fun filled days!

: )

After golf and shopping on Tuesday, we headed out to the beach so that Jeremy's parents could see 'our' ocean : )

I'm pretty sure their toes turned blue and went numb ; )

And of course, some bowling, which I don't remember being so terrible at!

I am the "W" - for "Wife" LOL

Stay tuned for more fun! : )

Golfing!

Tuesday, Jeremy and his dad went golfing and his mom and I went shopping : ) When we got home we were told that we had to go with them the next day to check out the scenery and wildlife...

Practicing...

Look at that form! ; )

Love this one!

Turtles!!!

ALLIGATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you find the 3 babies?

All of the ones above were taken with my camera and therefore had been using zoom....this one below I took with Jeremy's phone after my camera had died, so we were actually standing this close to it ; )

We saw at least 8 more that I didn't get to get a picture of....it was the coolest thing ever! I couldn't believe this one area was a huge body of water behind some houses (the whole course went through a neighborhood) that had 3 alligators in it and the people who lived there didn't even really notice or care!

I told Jeremy i'll go golfing with him any day! We will appreciate the alligators! LOL
