Part 2

Raise your hand if you've ever tried to take pictures of an 8 month old that doesn't sit still. Ever. Unless he is sleeping. Well, we attempted to take his 8 month shots yesterday and I'll let the pictures show you just how well that went : )

As soon as I put him on the couch we went to this...

He turned into SUCH a goofball!

STOP IT! STOP IT RIGHT NOW!

aaaaaand we're done! hahaha

Pictures of his teeth and hair!

8 months!

I know, I'm late. And I don't have pictures yet - but that just means you'll get an extra post this week! I have had it on my to-do list every day since Friday and well, it's just been a little crazy around here! But, we have an 8 month old on our hands and he is growing up and changing every single day. Jeremy and I both agree that it feels more like 4 months since we brought our peanut home from the hospital. Everyone always says to soak up every moment and that time will fly by, but you never really know it until you are there.

We don't go to the Doctor until 9 months,
so no new stats, but lots of new firsts.

Seth used to be very hesitant with his walking hippo. He loves to climb on it and play, but when it came to walking, unless we held him up and walked with him, he would just push it forward and fall on his face. Until a couple weeks ago. He is on the move with that thing! Back and forth and back and forth again. Of course, he thinks he is pretty big cheese and has to make sure that Mommy and Dada are watching him at all times while showing off. He is still walking with us, but now he only needs one of our hands to help him : ( He is consistently pulling up - on everything. If we are eating dinner he comes and pulls up on the chairs, in his crib, on the couch, on the coffee table, on his toys, on our bed......everything : ) While standing, if he decides he is done he has already perfected dropping down to his butt, when he used to just fall straight back and hit his head. He has the cutest little things that he does. I love just sitting and watching him and I so wish that I could be in his head. He always squats while he plays which makes him look like he is 2 years old. If he isn't wearing pants and tries to crawl on the kitchen floor, he does this one knee one foot gimpy crawl and I find it hilarious. I'm not sure if it hurts his knee being on the floor or if he is trying to get traction with his foot, but he seriously is the cutest. His favorite activity right now is chasing balls around the house. He has that little toy that spits balls out and he loves to pick the ball up, "throw it" and chase it all around. Especially if it ends up in the kitchen - what fun that is! Unless of course, going outside is an option - then he is ALL about that! He is obsessed! If I open the front door to see how warm it is before we get dressed and then shut and lock it, he will start crying. If we go for a walk, come home and I put the stroller away, he will start crying. I swear he would live out there if he could. He experienced the park and swings for the first time a couple weeks ago. The swings were pretty awesome the first time, but now he could care less. He would much rather eat wood chips and leaves and people watch - he gets that from his Mommy and Dramma. And of course, he LOVES music! Especially the pepperoni commercial. Time stops whenever something with a beat comes on, he will come "running" from wherever he is. He loves watching I Love Lucy, anything related to any kind of sport, Daniel Tiger, Curious George and Wheel of Fortune. I'm happy to pass along the I Love Lucy and Wheel of Fortune addiction if Dada is going to hook him on sports : ) He also has the cutest wave and will crawl over with a large open mouth and plant a big ole' kiss on you! He has a pretty regular routine but we are so fortunate that he also goes with the flow. He has his nap times, bottle times, bed time, but if we have to stray from them a little at times, he goes right along with it and that makes a Mommy's life easier! He is still eating his baby food, but he also loves cheerios, homemade yogurt drops, scrambled eggs, strawberries and water.

I think that's about it for now. Every day is something new and exciting. My calendar is more full of what new thing he did that day than anything else : )

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

It's Monday!

Monday's aren't usually my favorite day of the week, but this morning I have enjoyed a "fresh start". The laundry baskets are usually full after the weekend and Monday is the perfect day to tackle the to-do list. All those things you didn't get done the week before and you let yourself forget about over the weekend - when it's all about family.
Or houses...........

So much has happened since my last update on Thursday and I know I completely missed Seth's 8-month post. It was an emotional and exhausting weekend. Hopefully this week you will get both a house update as well as a post about our not-so-little munchkin.

Home update

*PRAYER REQUEST*

I haven't posted lately on here about our home searching adventures, although I have updated a bit on facebook. If you follow me here, but not there - I'll bring you up to speed a little bit.

We had a list of 3 homes that we loved based on their listings and driving through the neighborhoods that they were in. That list of 3 quickly dropped to 1 after our realtor told us some things about 2 of them. So, we took off a couple weeks ago to go see this one home. It was at a decent price range, a spot we were comfortable at but not so cheap that we were afraid to walk through it, until we opened the door........I have no clue why pictures and listings aren't just honest. You know people are going to come see the house and are going to see the condition of it. Some people might want a fixer upper, some people might not - just come out and say it/show it so you don't waste people's time. Okay, I'm done now. Anyways....there was water damage under the floor and mold on the ceiling. Plus it was way smaller than we had envisioned and well, we walked out as quickly as we walked in.

While we were there, actually before we even went in, our realtor told us that she had just sent a listing our way of a new development that was being built. Brand new homes. BRAND NEW. Their price is right at our cap, but the details seem pretty incredible. Not only are the homes brand new, but there is a 1-year warranty on EVERYTHING (no matter how big or small), there is a 5 year warranty on appliances and a 10 year warranty on the structure. They are offering $5,000 off of the listing price and $3,000 towards closing costs. I mean.....I don't even know what to say.

So, our realtor told us to go drive over there, check out the area, see if it would be something we are interested in. And of course, it's beautiful! We are headed there tomorrow to meet with our realtor and the listing agent to get all the fine details, read the fine print, do a walk through and find out if this is really too good to be true! These houses are going fast, in fact, the one that our realtor sent us to look at was already sold by the time we got there, so she has advised us to bring a check with us tomorrow and we will most likely have to wait 5 months for them to build ours. PLEASE, PLEASE pray for us! We have a babysitter lined up so that I can hopefully think straight during the meeting without Seth needing me. I am already scared. Buying a house is a big deal. I mean, a BIG deal. I don't go to the store without a strict budget and if I'm trying to buy something for myself you can forget it - it ends up put back on the shelf before I get anywhere near the register. This is a house. Basically a lifelong commitment to a very large amount of money. I can't just decide in 6 months that I don't really like it anymore.

Jeremy is practically skipping through the daisies. He has complete peace about it and is ready to sign where needed. I...........have no idea. I told him last night, I don't know if I'll ever be able to just jump on board with both feet, not having ANY hesitations. No matter what the price is or where the location is, I think I'm just going to be scared!

I'm praying that God will give ME peace and that He will lead Jeremy to make the right decision for us.
EEK!

Closets

I'm on a roll this week! Of course, next week you probably won't hear anything from me lol So, I finally finished that project I had been putting off. Our closets desperately needed some TLC. I set out to do it one day, but then it didn't happen and then I told myself that there was no use doing it because we could be moving soon but, Lord only knows when that will actually happen, so I got it done : )

Seth's closet before.....

& after.....

 Hallway closet before.....

Our closet before.....

I had fun (lol) and it feels good to have a little bit of order in the mess that was! I could organize things forever if I had enough stuff to do so!

Happy Wednesday : )

Oranges!

There's a first time for everything! This actually wasn't it though hahaha We tried giving him an orange slice in his little pouch a while ago when he first started eating things, but they weren't ripe, quite sour and he wanted nothing to do with it. But yesterday when I peeled myself an orange, I decided to give it another try and boy did he love it! He sucked this thing dry!

Happy Tuesday! : )
