Being pregnant has been a beautiful thing. It, of course, has had it's unpleasant moments and worrisome times, but I have enjoyed every minute of it and I know there will be a part of me that misses Seth being inside of me once he joins the world. I'll miss the flips and kicks that remind me to smile - but then i'll have his cute little self to look at and have that reminder : )
Besides the joys of pregnancy itself I have been amazed at how it has changed the relationships in my life - in a good way of course! I wasn't quite sure how Jeremy would react when I told him our exciting news. It certainly didn't take as long as both of us had expected and I'll admit, that had me a little concerned for his sake! From the first moment afterwards until this day (and I know it will continue), he has been...I don't even know what word to put in there! It has been incredible to watch him transform into the Daddy role already. The way he is towards me, towards Seth - it's beautiful and I love it.
Then there's my sister.
We haven't always had the best relationship. Growing up had it's rough patches. We grew out of that stage and although our relationship wasn't lacking anything, we still didn't talk but every 2 weeks or so (although those were usually 2 hour conversations). Now - I have to talk to my sister at LEAST 3 times a week. Although our phones hate each other and continually hang up on each other when they don't do that with any other person! We have talked about this and I have no idea why things are different now. It's not like we love each other more now that I'm pregnant. There is just so much to talk about and so much more that we can relate to each other with. I cherish our relationship and know because of that, her and Seth are going to have the best bond and I can't wait to see that transform.
And then there's my mom. *choke*
Our relationship hasn't changed at all, but there's just something about your mom when you're pregnant. I don't know how to explain it. Leaving NY is never easy after our visits and I get emotional every time, but this time, I cried for quite a while once we hit the road and the aching feeling took a lot longer to leave than it normally does. She's my mom and I need her. I get a little anxious when I think about the fact that she won't be here for Seth's delivery. Although we are only planning on having Jeremy in the room, it would be nice to know she is right there. But I know she is coming and will be with us for a good while afterwards - and that is going to be the best. It really is true what they say - the best part about me having her as my mom is that my kids will get her as a Grandma : )
And I can't leave out my Dad : )
Our relationship hasn't changed either, but I sure do love him and can't wait to see Bompa with Seth : )
