I swear I won't start this post the same way I do every month. I will apologize now for the book that this will be, though. I'd be lying if I said this whole growing up thing was easy for me. The past couple weeks have been very emotional for this Mommy. I saw this graphic the other day on Facebook and it couldn't be more perfect....
I absolutely LOVE watching him learn and grow. I wish I could be inside of his head to see what his little mind is thinking. Seeing him discover things and learn how to do new things is so very exciting, but it also breaks my heart. I miss my little peanut who would just lay on me. There are a couple times during the day that I still get my cuddles, but most of the time he wants to go, go, go. I must say though, it is pretty adorable when I go into the kitchen and a moment later there he is at my feet with the biggest smile on his face : )
We won't be going back to the doctor until 9 months, so there are no new "stats", but my oh my has he been a busy boy in the past month!
He is fully mobile now. He figured out crawling last week but it only took him a couple days to master it. He loves to crawl over to the TV stand and try to open the cabinets and he also loves to try and eat our computer cords. The other day, he spotted the bookshelf of DVD's : ) We are working on learning "no" hahaha He is getting better and better at independent play, even though I love being on the floor with him. He will sit there for a good while, but if I am off doing something and he hears me, he will now come looking for me. He loves to follow me into the kitchen. When he comes around the corner he has the biggest smile on his face and then he usually lays his head down and stays there for a few minutes. I think he likes the cool floor.

We installed his big boy car seat the other day. He doesn't really seem to know the difference, although now that he doesn't have the canopy on his seat the sun can get to him, so we are going to have to invest in some window shades or start hanging a blanket. With the new seat install came a bunch of other firsts. Like riding in the cart like a big boy and riding in his stroller without his seat attached. He loves being outside and has really enjoyed these new "freedoms". He just sits and stares. Our first trip to the grocery store was hilarious. He whipped his head around in a million directions and then quickly realized that he needed everything I was getting. I need to remember to bring toys to attach to his cart cover next time.

He has also had not one, but two teeth pop through in the past week. He got an amber teething necklace as a gift and I am now a firm believer of them. He has been a little bit more fussy and needy than normal, which is actually what made me look and realize he had a second one, but he hasn't had any outbursts like he had done before he started wearing the necklace (which we keep around his ankle).
(I know it's really hard to see - he won't let me get a good one. But if you look closely at his gum you can see the two white teeth)
He loves to walk around the house holding onto our hands. I take the cushions off the couch and put toys down and he is learning how to walk alongside it on his own. He has a walker toy that we have been getting used to as well, but for some reason he hasn't quite figured it out yet. He holds on and pushes it, but doesn't walk so he face plants. If we hold onto his arms, he will take steps, but he hasn't figured out he can do it on his own while holding onto it just yet. He is trying really hard to start pulling up, too. When I go and get him from nap time he loves to peak at me through the spindles, but then he reaches up and tries so hard to grab the top of the crib. He has also learned how to reach for us. He first started doing it when Dada would get home from work (which he of course melted over) but he now does it pretty consistently when he wants you to get him. It's adorable. I also got him to wave at me the other day. It was completely out of the blue. Jeremy was holding him and I waved and said hi and he did it right back to me. Of course, he won't do it when we ask him to though lol
He has started a new eating schedule. He only gets a bottle when he wakes up in the morning and then before naps and bedtime. He gets fruit for lunch and vegetables for dinner. It has been going very well! I love how "go with the flow" he is when it comes to his naps and eating when we have had to change things up. His favorite vegetable is definitely squash and I don't think he is a very big fan of carrots. We just started him on fruit this week and he could not get enough of pears or bananas, but did not care for peaches. We also started adding a little rice cereal to the soupier foods to get him used to some more texture and to make eating a bit easier. He has been holding his own bottle since we switched him over and he HAS to wiggle his feet while he drinks. The other day he had his foot shot way up into the air. Jeremy pushed it down and he shot it right back up again. Too cute.
(he isn't normally this messy, but this was our peaches fiasco lol)
He still loves his puppy and his paccy. I play with him now and put his paccy in my mouth and snuggle his puppy and he comes and takes them both from me. Also, he is such a little boy and absolutely loves sports. If football or basketball or even just a sports talk show is on, he is mesmerized. He even knows when it's a commercial and will go about his business until it comes back on. Of course, this makes Dada pretty proud.
Here's my big boy!
These first two were really dark, but they were too cute to erase so I edited them the best I could to get them visible!
Slow down my sweetness <3
