Nature!

On Saturday we decided we wanted to get out and enjoy the weather. There are a BUNCH of nature trails, hiking, horseback riding, kayak tours and the list goes on and on. We settled on a place that offered horseback riding and kayak tours to go to and just do the free things, however when we got there it was going to cost us $50 just to get in. So, we got back in the car and found this cute little park right around the corner from our apartment. It had a nice little trail going around and through it and also has some tennis courts that we hope to try out soon!
 HUGE trees!

 love.of.my.life.

They had some cute little statues, too!
This one was called "Follow the Leader"
As we were walking through it I told Jeremy that I bet a lot of proposals happened there and to the left of this statue was a beautiful half circle surrounded by blooming trees - we decided that that's where they took place ; )

We saw a bunch of furry little friends! Jeremy wants one for a pet : )

Before we found that little park we actually went to the visitor's center and got a bunch of pamphlets and brochures with different places and maps and we found this other cool place that was 40,000 acres of swamp that they built a wooden bridge throughout that you could go and see different things like alligators!

On our way there, we saw a COTTON FIELD!

Ok, so maybe i'm being silly, but i've obviously never seen one before and I just thought it was the coolest thing ever : P

The trail into the swamp....

...literally in the middle of nowhere lol

We ended up not seeing very many animals but we got there only an hour before they closed so we didn't really have time to take our time and walk quietly and slowly and sit at the alligator lake to see if we could spot one -
definitely something we will be going back to.

BUT, we still saw some pretty cool things!

These things were EVERYWHERE and we could not figure out what they were...
we thought they were tree stumps but
couldn't figure out why they were pointed on the tops...

Come to find out they are the roots from these
huge cypress trees that come up from underground...

Lots of creatures!

Besides more furry little squirrels we only ended up seeing these little guys...

No matter how much we moved or talked this deer stood there and watched us...Jeremy said it's because she's never been shot at there lol

Something weird growing on a tree...

I'm not sure what lives there, or why there are steps going down to it....

But in the end...we were no match...

Magnolia Place

So you've seen the inside of our apartment, but where exactly do we live?
Ask no further! : )

Welcome to Magnolia Place!
The property has a circular driveway with the apartment buildings along the outside. The middle of it consists of basketball courts, playgrounds,
the pool, the office, mailboxes and dumpsters.

 Our building...

Through the front door...

 ...up the stairs...

...and straight ahead!

Mailboxes...exciting, i know ; )

The pool!
I'm not sure how long it stays open...usually its closed on Mondays for cleaning but when I was out yesterday I noticed the gate locked,
so maybe its closed for the season???

& a very unwelcome "little" guy that we saw on our walk, with a web from the telephone lines all the way down to the bushes!
Thankfully our walk was FAR away from our building : )

Minus the spider, it's pretty cozy! The weather is calming down a bit. More in the 70's than 80's and 90's. We are able to have our windows open at night and enjoy a nice breeze! I think we will start enjoying our electric bill a lot more too! Although I made the mistake of telling Jeremy we weren't ever going to use heat and that I would just bundle up in sweatshirts and blankets...I might regret that at some point : )

This weekend i'm hoping to snatch pictures of some other places, so stay tuned : )

Update!

Alright, so i've been talking about all of these projects and updating our room pics with our decorations for how long now? At least since my "Pinsperation" post. Well, the time finally came, thanks to us getting a new couch! So, there really is no introduction here or anything else to say so without further ado.....

This now hangs next to our door for our keys
(there is more to this project once I get more supplies,
but I wanted to get this part up)

Our dry erase week organizer!

Entry way...

My new living room wall! : D
I absolutely love this - the "T" really makes it

The frame on the top says "happiness is being married to your best friend" that my sister in law, Amanda gave me. The sign to the right says "Happily Ever After" that my sister in law, Lana gave me. And since we have limited shelves and limited frames right now, I couldn't fit a picture of everyone! So, for now, the bottom is a picture of our whole wedding party, in a frame that says "have you ever seen such good looking people" LOL, a picture of us and my parents and a picture of us and his parents. The shelf to the left is a picture of me and my good friend Megan, mentioned in the last post, so that I can be reminded to pray for her daily in those busy moments. Also, next to her frame is a Willow Tree figurine that means "Surrounded by Love." My plan is to make one of the walls in the office/spare bedroom for random photos : )

HERE IT IS!!!!!
Isn't she pretty? : )
SO amazingly comfortable compared to that futon we had LOL
We decided since it was in such rough shape to just toss it, but we saved the cushion from it for people to sleep on when they come to visit!

Updated room pics:
Jeremy's window decorations : )
I don't think this wall changed,
just maybe the basket next to the TV for Jeremy's video games

L.O.V.E. him
working on a saturday for his wife : )
(do you like our palm tree?) LOL

Sooooooo, what do you think?! : )
