Craft Day!

The other day my good friend Mimi came over and we made some holiday crafts!

(We met each other when we both took the training to become substitute teachers and then we both ended up getting different jobs! I always say we went there just so we could meet each other because she is now a great friend!!!)

2014....

I have never been one to really make a New Year's Resolution, until I stumbled upon this both on Pinterest and Facebook, and I do believe that it is the Thomas Family New Year's Resolution for 2014.

...a lot like Christmas!

Ok, so it's not looking anything like Christmas. And our 80 degree weather isn't really making it feel much like Christmas either. I mean, Christmas and air conditioning don't really mesh well together in my dictionary. Thankfully, in less than 2 weeks, it will both look and feel a lot more like Christmas when we get to be in NY! In the meantime, our apartment has some holiday spirit going on! : )

I did a little more decorating this year than I did last....

My homemade nativity from last year!

Our Charlie Brown tree from last year <3

(The Mistle-toe) : )

We don't really have the room for a real Christmas tree right now and with us going to be gone for 2 weeks a real one wouldn't really make it, but my creative juices were flowing one day, so this year we still have more than just our Charlie Brown tree. We can actually put presents under this one and with my pine scent melting away on the shelf, you wouldn't even know it wasn't real! : ) LOL

We got a box in the mail the other day from Jeremy's parents with a card inside saying Merry Christmas. For a second we thought they had forgotten we were coming there for Christmas and had sent us our presents! LOL But, his mom had sent us this wreath for our door - "just a little something to decorate our new home" : )

Have you gotten into the Holiday spirit and decorated yet???

Festival of Lights!

Now that Thanksgiving is over (not that I was wishing it away), it is OFFICIALLY okay for me to start celebrating Christmas : ) (Although I already have been for a couple months now) So, this past weekend we went and saw the Charleston Festival of Lights! We tried to go last year, but we waited until too close to Christmas, on a weekend, later in the evening, and got caught in like a 2 mile line, waiting. So, it didn't happen LOL

Here are some pictures! My phone did a better job than my camera, but still not the greatest quality...

(thought of you with this one, Mom)

(the woman who lived in a shoe....)

(Humpty Dumpty)

I think this one was my favorite : )

This one was really cool, too! They had all the animals lined up, 2 by 2...

(I thought of you with this one, Jonathan)

All of the planets and an alien...Jeremy, our science teacher, was very offended by this layout ; )

Lovebirds  teeter-tottering : )

....there was one that said "and to all a good night" but the cars going in the opposite direction blocked my picture : )

Yay Christmas-time!!!

Thanksgiving '13

For our second Thanksgiving in a row, we stayed in South Carolina. Only 4 days off from work doesn't really leave enough time to travel all the way to New York. Last year it was just the two of us, but this year we had 3 friends come over for dinner. We had a blast! Good food, friends, games and laughs. We are very thankful for those we have met while being here.
We also had a furry little friend to keep us company. Our church's youth pastor and his wife have family out of town, so whenever they travel, we get to "Brady-sit" : ) Our apartment doesn't allow us to have pets, so it's our chance to get our pet fix! I think if we were able to sneak him back home, we would have! We miss our Brady time!

"It's time to wake up, guys!"
Every time there is an animal of any kind on the TV, he attacks.....

: )

We hope you all had a blessed holiday with friends and family!
