Week 2 of Summer!

We had our first beach trip.....

Lucas was not too sure of this place.....

Seth's too busy for pictures when we are out and about. But if I set Lucas somewhere and make the same face he is making and say "oooooooooh", he will usually stay long enough to get one snapped lol

Just for Dad

I don't always do a Father's Day post, but I know how much my Dad loves reading the blog and I know that I don't talk to him as much as I do my Mom, so he deserves some special attention! 

I'm so thankful for my Dad. Do you remember when we were on vacation and went horse back riding? I rode with you and it was the most uncomfortable thing in the world! I remember you teaching me how to fish at Uncle Ronnie's. I remember riding with you on the truck. I remember being sick on the couch next to the wood stove and sneaking in to the dining room to watch Men in Black with you from around the corner (I'm not sure you ever knew that). I remember going down the snow mountain on the inner tube and having you land on me after we went over a bump. I remember going for rides in the trailer of the lawn mower. I remember you saving me from the bees in my bedroom.....oh the bees. So many bees. 

Even though we don't talk one-on-one often, I love that I can call you whenever I need something and I know that you're going to be there. Even though you can't tell me over the phone that it IS the right vehicle and I'm just feeling sick because it's a lot of money, you can still give me the best advice that leads to a great decision. 

Even though we are miles (and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles and miles) apart, I hope you know just how special, loved, cherished, admired and missed you are! You truly were the first man I ever loved and my forever hero.

Our first summer adventure....

Ever since the last time we went to the Zoo Seth had been asking to go again, so we made a countdown chain and said we would go when school was done to celebrate Dada's summer! 

(PS - he was already asking to go again last night.....sigh)

We fed the giraffe's some pieces of lettuce that had fallen on the ground. Seth did it once and then he wanted me to do it. It was very weird and cool LOL The baby giraffe has gotten bigger and the baby lions were up on the screen again. We were disappointed to see that the gorilla exhibit was shut down, but excited to hear it was because they had a baby too! We were able to see some pictures and then I came home to an email of the sweet little one, too! They don't even know if it's a boy or a girl yet because they give Momma time with it, which is super cool. She said they will be opening soon, so we should get to see it next time! We still got to see the big guy up on his hill though! 

Oh and we obviously took the van and it's amazing! LOL I keep finding new things I love about it every time we go somewhere.

Dada has one more day to go into work and then our summer begins! We have so much to do and so much planned. Some fun, some not, but I am excited for all of it!
