Our first garden!

I've wanted to have a garden for so long, but it just wasn't feasible while in South Carolina. So when it came time to find our home here, we definitely wanted the space (for many reasons of course)! COVID tried to mess up our plans and we didn't get exactly what we had planned on doing, but for our first garden it was very successful and fun!

It was so awesome watching everything grow! From stage 1...
To stage 2.....

To stage 3....

We GREATLY enjoyed eating our own crops! We made homemade pickles and froze a bunch of tomatoes for winter soups.....

The boys had so much fun watching everything turn and ate cherry tomatoes faster than anything. We still have tomatoes turning in a paper bag on the counter and we already have plans for a bigger plot next year!!!

Seth is FIVE!!!

I think the biggest shock to me with this birthday is the school year that attaches to it! Just like Lucas, with Seth's maturity and smarts it doesn't blow me away that he is five! But having him be in school is what really gets to me and we could not be more proud of this kid. He has come so far in his vocabulary and his smarts are just out of this world. He doesn't forget a thing, can already do basic math in his head, is writing his name, memorizing songs....I could go on and on!

The night before his birthday he wanted to go to sleep right after dinner so that he could wake up and have it be his day LOL

He chose to go hiking for his birthday (I mean, what 5 year old picks that for his birthday adventure?!), so that's just what we did! Sadly, it landed him with poison ivy - leading to a full blown body rash and a two week dose of steroids! But he's a champ, we got through it and now we know we have a sensitivity in the house!

The rest of the day was spent enjoying his gifts.....

And although I didn't get any pictures, we were able to celebrate with grandparents and he got a bunch more new favorites!!!

His interests fall right in line with Lucas'. I'm not sure who influenced who, but I am thankful that they have each other and that on most days, they love to play together in every capacity. Coloring is by far the top most favorite thing for Seth. After breakfast every single day he gets out his books, paper and crayons and goes to town. Even now after school (more on that another time) it's the first thing that he does! He also loves to read stories, do puzzles, play Crash Bandicoot and any card/board games and his newest love is the Avengers! Paw Patrol is again back in his toy rotation since we can watch the episodes again!

I'm so thankful for this big, little guy of ours! He also fights and loves with every bone in his body, but he has a sensitivity that Lucas doesn't. I know that isn't usually praised, particularly in boys. And I'm sure it will give him issues at times in life, but it makes him.......HIM! ❤
