Christmas Part 1

I thought Christmas was going to be really hard away from family. Jeremy told me afterwards that he was really worried about me, but among the bittersweet, it was really nice. We didn't have any commitments or obligations. We could do what we want, when we wanted. So we soaked up a ton of family time and had an absolute blast!

We enjoyed some time off from therapy over the holidays, but we continue to be incredibly proud of this guy! He is only 3 sounds away from being on track with a 4-year old...

We really only need to have Daddy home...

On Christmas Eve we did presents with my parents. The boys added new animals to their ever growing "zoo" and they don't know it yet, but they'll be getting monthly magazines in the mail. I think I'm more excited about this as it occupies them for a LONG time LOL

We did a family grocery trip to stock up on yummy stuff and so I could attempt to make my mom's infamous Christmas cookies.

Seth experienced pushing his own shopping cart and there's no turning back from that one....

That evening, we headed off to do our Festival of Lights. We went all out with dinner, the carousal, a train ride and an overpriced plastic sword that made me feel like I was having a seizure and then broke 2 days later.....

Back home, kids to bed and Jeremy and I got ready for the morning!
(this was super easy to assemble with only
2 heart attacks that we were missing pieces)

And then morning came!!!

Lucas was far too interested in playing with the kitchen to open up his stocking, Seth was all about the presents...

Jeremy spoiled me with gifts as always and then we enjoyed a quiet dinner just us two after the boys went to bed...

Our December...

I already shared a bit about December with the visit from Jeremy's parents - and I have a ton to share about our holidays, but I wanted to still include how the whole month started!

I got one of my Christmas early and got to see Lauren Daigle in concert with Jeremy!!! I didn't get any pictures of her, but it was amazing. It was her Christmas tour but she came out and did a mashup with two of my favorite songs as an encore. I can't wait to see her again!

When you can't find your child and he's giggling under the bed...

There's no fighting a nap when Phoebe
(our little vibrating heater) comes to lay on you!

Stay tuned for our holiday adventures!

Christmas visitors

Since we aren't going to be traveling this Christmas, Jeremy's parents made the trip down to have an early celebration with us! Lucas was a little under the weather when they arrived and Seth ended up getting it a couple days later, so it wasn't the best trip, but we still fit some fun in.....We took them to visit Bee City (a small zoo in our area). We haven't been there in a super long time and we loved all the changes!

This is the first time I've ever gone in to feed the birds and it was SO fun! They land all over you and you'll have at least 10 on your hand trying to eat the food. Super cool!

And then we had Christmas!!!

The boys went golfing one day but other than that we just hung out and laid low with the boys. Lots of snuggles, movies, coloring and stories....

On their last night, we drove up to see a house COVERED in lights that "dances" to music when you tune to the station!

We are so thankful for their visit!

I can't believe it's already mid-month! Just 6 more days of work before Christmas break begins.......and then 2019 will be upon us!
