I promise I'm not going to start this off the way I do every other year.......Okay but seriously, HOW are we at this point already?!?!
This literally feels like just yesterday.......
Lucas is a sour patch kid. He's at the wonderful stage where he deliberately doesn't listen to you, but then acts like you completely crushed his soul when you discipline him. Sighing when told "no" and whining are a regular part of our day. Complete with the dramatic plop to the ground like life is just going to end at any moment because of the disappointment of not getting his way. I remember this with Seth. It's an awesome stage LOL What I don't remember with Seth is picking our nose! Seth never did that and Lucas is constantly digging for treasure. Especially when we are in the car and I can't do anything about it. He will call me, show me his finger and then stick it right in his mouth....oy vey.
Food is still a favorite part of his day although he is starting to lose some of his baby fat. He loves noodles (mac n' cheese) and like his mommy could eat a cheeseburger every day of his life!
He is already embarrassed by me. Seth always asked me to sing and dance when I put music on. Lucas immediately says "No, no, no". He has so many words, too. 6 months ago I was worried what his future would be, since I didn't really know what was normal or what he should be saying after going through everything with Seth. But then he just started taking off with it and my Momma gut does not feel the same way it did with big brother. His pediatrician said he should have 50 words and stringing together 2-3 word "sentences". He most definitely is there.

He loves all toys and all things. Especially if it's something his brother has and then he realizes how desperately he needs to have it! He is starting to really get into imaginative play with paw patrol toys and zoo animals. Thanks to Seth that's what we have a lot of around here! He loves dinosaurs, cars and stories. Since there wasn't a big thing that he LOVED or that we really wanted to get him, we decided we would do an experience for his birthday instead of gifts. So we headed up to Columbia for the weekend.
First stop was of course, the zoo!

These guys are the weirdest things I've ever seen. How many times have we been here and I've never noticed them? Now I can't remember what they were called, but they would bob up and down.....creepy!
Then we checked into a hotel, the boys were beat!
We had a pizza party, followed by a pool party.
I didn't bring my phone down to the pool but I have to still document it. When we told the boys what we were doing Seth didn't even want to go, but we convinced him to go try and if he didn't like it, we could leave. This is the first time either one has experienced a pool - other than a little inflatable one. When we got down there Seth was very hesitant and Lucas, of course, had no fear whatsoever. He was laying on his belly with Jeremy kicking his feet, even sticking his face in the water and blowing bubbles. Seth mostly sat on the steps or the side of the wall and kicked his feet while telling Daddy to pretend to be an animal and laughing his head off. BUT, by the end of it, he was in the water with me and asking to be dunked under while he closed his eyes and I held his nose. So proud!
Breakfast was sticky waffles in bed, followed by a bath.....
And then we headed off to our next surprise.....
