An update on the boys!

 

I feel like my Facebook and blog have been overflowing with Kylie cuteness. In my defense, she lays still and smiles at me all day long 😂 Although it's obvious that our family pictures and updates will forever include her, I figured the boys deserved a post on just them and what they are up to these days (but let's be honest, it will include how much they love their sister 😉)

Seth is already looking forward to and planning his 6th birthday. He wants to go fishing, have a Chiefs football cake and the only thing on his gift list is a golden puppy (a golden retriever). Football of every kind is at the top of his favorite activity list. He plays by himself all day long, throwing the ball in the air and catching it; playing imaginary games upstairs by himself. Daddy has started to let him play a football video game with him as well and any chance he gets at that is the best day ever. He knows more about teams than I do and the Chiefs remain his favorite! When he grows up he wants to be a farmer, a football player and be on Triple G. 

Lucas' imagination is absolutely amazing. Whether it's something he builds, colors or plays, he can create the most interesting scenarios. He is also really good at playing on his own, something that Seth never had any interest in doing and he doesn't really have a certain obsession. He is very excited to turn 4 but he isn't quite as detailed as his brother and his gift list consists of everything he has ever seen and doesn't yet own LOL When he grows up he wants to be a farm (not a farmer, a farm 😂) and be on a cooking show.

They are both very interested in cooking and love to either be in the kitchen with me or playing with their kitchen upstairs. We watch cooking shows together any chance we get! They got magnetic tiles for Christmas and those, along with legos are something that gets played with daily. Having music on and dancing is also a preferred option that entertains all three kiddos. Reading books, playing games or doing puzzles are always the activities of choice when getting time with Mommy and Daddy.

We haven't been up to anything too crazy because of COVID. We finally started attending church live again and the kids classes have just restarted, so that's been good for all of us! Lucas came home from church last week singing a song over and over again and yesterday said he can NOT wait to go back again ❤ We are chipping away at our school curriculum. I realized while planning for the week that we are about two weeks behind (going with Daddy's schedule) from Kylie's delivery, so we are doubling up on our review days now so that we can all end the same time! I wouldn't say that Seth ever asks to do school, but once we get started he is pretty into it and gets easily excited. He also gets easily frustrated when he gets something wrong. We are working on the concept of - we are in school to learn NEW things, because we don't know everything 😉 I would say his favorite book is Word Building where he learns his letters via animal stories. He is best at Math, but honestly the Math that he is good at we haven't even learned LOL He is doing basic addition, subtraction, counting by 5's 10's and 20's all in his head - even though the only Math we've done so far is learning his numbers, shapes and patterns. Lucas does "school" right along side of us every day. That usually consists of drawing, coloring or wipe-clean books. I think he will be so bored when it comes time for his Kindergarten because there are days he learns even more than Seth and can answer the questions when Seth isn't being a good listener. He also has the Math brain that his brother does and is already coming up with random addition problems in his head, too. Mommy is not enjoying our home school journey at all. I don't know if it's because of Kylie, our curriculum or just the fact that I'm not cut out for it but we are praying for what our future path is. 

Other than that.....they love their sister 😍 They fight over her all day long and as soon as she makes any noise from her naps they both ask if they can go get her. She is just as infatuated with them too and easily gives away cheesy grins and some giggles!

Our days can be incredibly long, especially with the pandemic struggles - but it's even more true that the years are short. It's so bittersweet to see how much they've grown. Especially now with Kylie here and remembering the sweet little stages and milestones. But seeing them learn, getting excited about accomplishments, using their imaginations, watching them dream and witnessing their big hearts (even if it's sometimes interrupted by their even bigger attitudes).....it brings my heart such joy to be their mom!

Pregnancy back track....

 

I love to look back at each pregnancy ❤ Although this one wasn't the easiest, it is still such a precious time that I hold dear. I should probably compile all of my pictures/posts to compare each one, but for now Kylie's gets her own post just like the boys did!

Telling the boys the exciting news! Their guesses are hilarious and Lucas's face/reaction at the 25 second mark is literally my most favorite.....

I saw this shared over social media time and time again during the start of COVID. I thought it was the perfect way to announce our news!

And then the belly started growing...earlier and earlier each time 😉

14 weeks

18 weeks

20 weeks

It took 3 ultrasounds to get her to cooperate but we finally learned the exciting news! My mom and Jeremy both told me afterwards that they expected me to be completely depressed if it was another boy and they didn't know what they were going to do about it LOL Since Jeremy wasn't allowed with me at appointments, I had the tech seal it in an envelope. We opened it at home together that afternoon and then got the surprise below ready for the boys.....

30 weeks

 

This was the mark where the contractions hit every 10 minutes or less, all day - every day. We went to the hospital for the first time this week ~ 

34 weeks

38 weeks

I could not believe we hit this mark! Lucas was born 2 weeks early and coupled with contractions starting at 34 weeks, I thought for sure this day would never come.....40 weeks

Little did I know the very next day we'd be headed to the hospital...

.....for the real deal 💝

Three Months!

Wah.......3 months?!?  It doesn't seem that long ago that I was very pregnant, contracting and wondering when little miss was going to decide it was time. Now here we are, almost into March of 2021!!!

No weight check until next month since we don't trust our at home abilities anymore LOL Kylie is still eating every 2 hours during the day which makes it hard to get much done. She is VERY attached to mommy and prefers to be able to see me at all times - even better if I'm also holding her. We've really been enjoying our carrier that I invested in for Seth. At the time it seemed like a ton of money, but 3 kids later and with this needy one, it was sure worth it! It makes the days long but I don't feel like I'm allowed to complain because she goes to bed between 7 and 8pm and wakes up at 4am! We have had a couple 2am days, but still. For how difficult she was in the womb, she is a very good girl 😉 My mom says it's because she got her rebellion done with before she came out so we shouldn't have anymore problems, even in the teenage years 😂

She is currently in 0-3/3 month clothes but I think we will soon be transitioning to 3-6 and wearing size 1 diapers. She has definitely found her voice and loves to tell stories. She decided she was a big girl and sits in the bumbo seat now. I know it's a total parent thing to think that your baby is amazing, but I can't get over how grown up she seems. She's so itty bitty (pictures make her look bigger) but just acts much older. She's started to really enjoy baths, stories and the hanging giraffe on her mat (that was also Seth's favorite). All of her boys make her eyes sparkle and we are all just so thankful that she's here. Before she was born, the boys would pray nightly that she would come out. Every night since November 15th they have thanked God for her ❤

She wasn't feeling our sleepy time pictures and all of the shots below look the same, but how can you pick between these cheesy grins!?

Thank you for creating her, forming her and keeping her safe until Your perfect timing. Thank you for choosing us ❤

Our January

 

We rang in the new year at my sisters house ~ 8 adults, 2 teenagers and 10 kiddos all under one roof for two days! It was chaos but incredibly fun and everyone got along so well. Of course I didn't get any pictures but memories were still made ❤ Kylie is our first that doesn't like car rides or fall asleep for trips. She will stay pretty content while you are cruising, but the minute you start to decelerate, she isn't happy and there's no stretching her past her 2 hour feed mark. 

The boys love to build "houses" with blankets, pillows and couch cushions - but one day they made a gym to exercise just like Daddy.....

There are many days Kylie has a sleeping buddy.....

Seth graduated to the next level of growing up!

We wrapped up the Buffalo Bills season.....

And then all became Chief fans.....😂

The boys don't like to play in the snow if it's too cold and most of the time that they do go out, I stay in with Kylie. But we did get in one family snow day when Beba made a snowman challenge!

We got a new gym piece that Mommy is a fan of!

And another Mommy approved upgrade!
