Looking back...

A little trip down memory lane. I wanted to put all of my maternity pictures in a timeline to see how I progressed along. It's crazy to look back on. It seems like just yesterday I was announcing our news to Jeremy that Monday morning...

I thought I would miss feeling Seth inside of me but life is pretty sweet with him on the outside : ) I have had two instances where I thought I felt something and had to remind myself there is nothing in there anymore though! LOL

Weekends with Dada

Last time I posted about our upcoming transitions I talked about Jeremy going back to school and the fact that I would be watching a little girl at our place. Well, it didn't work out with me watching the little girl so Seth and I are enjoying our days just the two of us. I absolutely love staying at home with him and soaking up every little thing about him. It has been an adjustment getting used to Jeremy not being around during the day, though. Our summer was amazing being together every day and the last 7 weeks with him at home with Seth and I were incredibly special. It's hard to see him leave every morning, especially if Seth isn't awake yet, but it's so sweet to watch him come home every afternoon and scoop up his boy. Our weekends are certainly cherished more than they used to be...

I love my boys and each little memory we are making together!

The little things....

We left a little late for church yesterday. I intentionally woke up an hour before Seth was supposed to eat so that I could get myself ready and we would be able to scoot right out after he finished. But, life happens. He took longer to eat than anticipated, I had to throw my dress on afterwards and then get him loaded into his seat after making sure he had burped to help prevent him from getting the dreaded hiccups. Getting out the door isn't quite as easy as it used to be! As we pulled out I prayed that God would give us green lights the whole way. We don't live that far away from church, but the traffic lights we hit can double our commute time. Each light was red as we approached, but by the time we got there they each turned green. My smile continued to get bigger as we got closer to church. When we got through our last light I smiled, looked at Jeremy and asked him if he saw what just happened. He smiled and said yes. A couple seconds later he said, "Hey you know what would be cool?....If Seth was born on July 4th."  : ) I am forever grateful for the life long reminder of how great God is. I have a pretty good list of these examples in my life, but Seth's birth story will always be special - I guess because it ended with him : )

Grandpa and Grandma Thomas

Last week we also had some more special visitors! Seth got to meet his Grandma and Grandpa Thomas!

They were very patient in waiting a month to get their hands on him and we all enjoyed their visit. We were blessed in so many ways, although I do have to say, my stomach is enjoying a few more vegetables this week than what it enjoyed last week! LOL So thankful our little boy has so many people to love him!

3 years...

We also celebrated our 3 year anniversary last week!

It's hard to believe that 3 years ago I married the love of my life and he whisked me away to start our wonderful life together. I've always been thankful that we moved away the day after we got married. It was the best way to start our marriage, separated from family (as horrible as that sounds), just the two of us, making our life together. Now, 3 years later, we have moved 3 times, Jeremy has had 2 jobs and we have a one month old little boy. My how time flies when you're having fun and that's just what we have been doing. I wouldn't trade my life for anything. Some days it's hard being so far away from family, especially now with our little guy, but life with my husband, no matter where we are, is just where I want to be. I'm thankful for all he has given me, all he has taught me and how we have grown together in these years. I couldn't ask for a better husband, provider, protector, leader, comforter and father to be standing by my side through life. He has taken such good care of me over the years and has easily transitioned into the father role with Seth. I am so proud of him and proud to be his wife. I love you, baby!

Here's to many, many, MANY more!

I'm ONE month!

Our little man was 1 month old last week! Jeremy's parents were visiting so I didn't have time to take pictures or do a post until this weekend. I can already see the changes in him. His tiny little self has started to fill out a little bit. He was so tiny and frail when we came home from the hospital but he is such a big boy now. His hair is growing and he lost his umbilical cord. He still loves to take baths and still hates to have a dirty diaper. He already has himself on a nice little schedule and knows his nights from his days, which mommy appreciates because he sleeps in longer chunks during the night! He stays awake for a while after his daytime feedings and loves to play on his activity mat. He is super strong at holding his head up during tummy time - so much so that mommy tells him to put it back down because he is supposed to be a baby! He is finding his voice and learning how to smile. He loves to suck on his hands and I know it's only a matter of time before he finds either his thumb or one of his fingers to soothe himself!

(this was from when my mom was still here - look how little!)

I'm nowhere near as good as my sister or sister-in-law, but I had to snap a few pictures of him in his one month tie : )

Some blurry smiles : )

A little size comparison...

Our little boy certainly is still little, but he sure doesn't act little with all that he is doing! Being his mommy and daddy is so much better than we could have ever imagined! We love him to pieces!

Transitioning...

This week is going to be a week full of firsts and transitions.
Jeremy heads back to work tomorrow. We are both dreading this more than we ever have before. Why do we have to work anyways? Let's just stay home and live off the land and live in a tent! LOL Seth and I are certainly going to miss him during the day. I wish we could have Skype rolling the whole time!
I am also going to start watching a little girl at our place. I can't remember if I blogged about this before but Jeremy and I decided a few months before Seth was born that I wouldn't be returning to the girls I was watching at the time. Some circumstances were changing on their end and we just decided it would be best for Seth and I if I stayed home. Luckily, I was able to find a family who was looking for someone to start watching their child in August. Her mom is finishing her last semester to become a teacher so Jeremy and I will have the same schedule, which is the most exciting thing of all I think. Hello family summer vacations! The little girl has never been away from her mom before, so we are going to slowly transition her this week and then start full time the following week once school officially starts. I am praying everything will go smoothly for her and I.

Stay tuned this week for Seth's one month update and a little bit of what we've been up to!
