We're home owners!

Officially, at 4pm today! It is absolutely surreal that we are buying a house. We've been ready for a long time, but it was such an exhausting process I never thought we'd get here! 

The last time I posted about our house we were going to look at a brand new home that was being built. Yeah, that didn't happen. I decided after that, that I was going to stop posting our house hunting adventures, because every time we thought we had one and I would share it, something would fall through. 

My last update was on Thursday saying how we were going to the new place on Friday to talk to the listing agent and that our realtor told us to bring our checkbook. Well, that evening we got the tentative numbers and it just wasn't going to happen. We didn't want to stretch ourselves so thin that we wouldn't be able to do anything other than sit in this house we just bought. So we told our realtor that we didn't need to waste anyone's time. Almost immediately, she had some houses that she wanted us to look at, so that's where we went Friday. Between Thursday and Monday we thought we were buying 3 different houses. I won't get into the whole story, because it would be incredible confusing to read on here, but the Lord was leading us to the house we are buying tonight and seeing that all unravel - to be able to look back and actually see that's what was going on - is incredible. It makes it so much more exciting to know that God picked this house for us. He closed other doors, when we were pushing them so hard - just for this house. We had our final walk through yesterday and I was able to snap some pictures of it all empty.

Kitchen is the first doorway on the left, then there is a closet up further on the left. Bathroom is the first doorway on your right, then Seth's room - our bedroom is straight ahead!

And of course, I didn't take any pictures of the front of the house? LOL Here is one from the original listing pictures though...We will have a picture taken with us in front of it soon : ) 

Jeremy's parents are on their way here and we have a weekend full of painting and cleaning in store! 

Candid 9-months

Seth has his 9-month checkup on Saturday, so I'll do another post then with his stats and his "official" pictures, but I have some candid shots and lots to share about what he is up to these days. You will just have to suffer through two Seth posts : )

 His typical day looks like: Waking up around 7:30, eating breakfast and playing. Bottle and nap from 10-12. Eats lunch and plays, usually go for a walk. Bottle and nap from 3-5. Eats dinner and plays with Dada. Bottle and bed around 7. His nighttime routine isn't anything too special but we found out the other day that his loves the schedule that he is on. We get his pj's on and change his diaper, turn his sound machine and fan on and then give him his bottle, put him to bed and turn on his musical bear. A couple nights ago I a migraine and wasn't able to do what I normally do for him, so Jeremy took over. In the chaos of me being sick and trying to get him to bed, he was flustered and forgot a few steps. Seth let him know. He cried and cried and Jeremy would go in and remember one thing. Then he would cry and cry until Jeremy went in and figured out all the pieces to the puzzle. Once everything was the way it was supposed to be, Seth layed down and played himself to sleep like he does every night - he just needed everything to be in order hahaha Little stinker!

He now walks along everything and takes off with his walker toys. He loves to "talk" while walking. As soon as you grab his hands to help him go he starts gabbering away. I give him a month to have it all figured out on his own. He can sign "please" and we are working on learning "all done" - since Mommy isn't a fan of smacking the spoon. He knows his name and understands when you say "outside" and "no". He loves to give kisses and he now knows how to make music by rubbing his hand over his mouth and making noises. He loves his books and I will often find him over by his shelf pulling them off and "reading" them. Makes a "book Mommy" proud : ) He is really good at independent play, but if he doesn't know where you are for too long he will come find you. His absolute favorite thing is to be outside. No matter how long we are out there, when it's time to come in he cries. He loves to play with any kind of ball and already has a pretty good collection started. We have a ton of baby food, so he still gets that about once a day, but he is eating a ton of "real" food now, too. He loves eggs, toast, bananas, apples, oranges, yogurt, cheerios, mashed potatoes, mushrooms and mac n' cheese. If you want him to eat carrots you have to disguise them and he absolutely HATES avocado! His new thing is grabbing the spoon and putting it into his own mouth and he also loves to try and feed you (or put his paccy in your mouth). He loves water and is a pro at holding his own cup now. I'm so thankful for this and that we didn't have to give him juice to help him love his cup. Daniel Tiger is his favorite show and we are thinking of doing that for his birthday party (I know, is it time for that already?!?) I enjoy just watching him play and learning. I say multiple times a day that I wish I could be in his head and know what he is thinking or trying to figure out. But, watching a show and getting some snuggles is the perfect way to end playtime, too.

He loves to throw his balls over by the door (or in the kitchen) where they roll around so much more.  Then he usually finds his way to the shoes....and shoelaces.

I can't wait to get rid of that cart!

He is all boy and absolutely crazy. On the go from the moment his eyes open and it takes him at least half of his bottle before naps and bedtime for his feet to stop kicking and his body to slow down. 

And I wouldn't have my life or my home looking any other way <3 

My parents were here!

Living so far away from family has its good parts and bad parts, but getting visitors is absolutely the best (until the goodbye part comes). Since we are a one car family now and Jeremy had to work, my parents rented a car at the airport, but we still showed up when they landed. Seth and I were waiting for them and started screaming as soon as I saw them. Thank goodness for the security guards who told dad that there was someone yelling for him, because mom was literally running and didn't even see me LOL We hung out with them for a bit while they waited for their rental car, but then we headed home to get Seth down for his nap. Once he woke up, the fun began : )

Bompa's adventures were the best

My mom hates bridges, especially this one. I'm sure you've seen it in previous posts before because I love it. Whenever we go over a big bridge she always says "Now if it starts coming down you're going to slam on the gas and push any cars out of our way." So when I suggested we walk this bridge I was shocked when she agreed to it. She said it was much less scary to walk it than to drive it, but we still had a plan in place in case it started coming down : ) 

Dad was waiting for us under the bridge, so we got some swinging in before we headed home.....

We enjoyed shopping, trying new restaurants, playing games, giving foot rubs and hanging out -
but most of all, lots of Gramma and Bompa time.....

It always helps when our next visit is planned, but having it be 4 months away isn't very easy! I'm so thankful for the relationship that I (and now Jeremy - and of course Seth) have with my parents. We love you guys - thanks for coming! 

I'm back!

I am sad to see that it's been almost a month since my last blog post! 

Sad, sad! 

Today's probably doesn't really count as it's not really a post, but more of an excuse : ) Today is a rough day. The past two weeks have been filled with my parents being in town and Jeremy being off from work for spring break. Today, it's the bug and I trying to stay busy, getting caught up on things and not focusing on our empty apartment. 

BUT! That means I have lots to blog about...
