Geiger shower

Jeremy and I pulled into NY at about 11:30am after driving all night, stopped at his parents quickly and then headed over to my parents just in time for our first shower that started at 3pm : )

Here are some pictures from our day!
Thanks Sarah, Sami and Rachel for the pictures!
My silly self and big 'ole belly : )

The hat that Marissa and Madalyn made for me to wear at the shower (thanks to my dad for suggesting that)

This girl right here (the big one) completely made my day. She is my adopted sister. I've known her since she was a little girl. Well she is all grown up and off to college now and made it seem like she wasn't going to be able to make it to the shower. Well, when I got to my parents guess who was there waiting for me! It was so great to see everyone, but she was the cherry on the top!

Let me explain: Sami (my adopted sister above) and her family gave us a corn teether. They are farmers. Sami said it would be so much better if the ear of corn spit out butter when it vibrated...
...you probably had to be there...

Such a special moment...My sister wanted to get Seth a Monkey, but after we went for our anatomy scan and we saw Seth sucking his thumb, Madalyn pulled rank. Madalyn has two of these puppies and was a thumb sucker herself, so she is the expert on these things and said that baby Seth needed a puppy. You see, you can't use the hands or feet to rub while you are sucking your thumb, it has to be the ears, and the monkey's ears were too little! : )

Homemade hats from Marissa and Madalyn <3

Sarah's showing me how to use my boba wrap!

I love it! And so did Lily : )

Thank you SO much to my mom, Sarah, Liz, Rachel and her mom for ALL they did for our special day. I wouldn't have wanted it to be any other way. Thank you to everyone who came out and showered us with your love and support as well. We are truly blessed.

Time away

What a wonderful spring break Jeremy and I had. We hadn’t been up to NY since Thanksgiving of last year and although we are normally apart from our families for even longer than this, we were both ready for a break that included getting to see our families. We were blessed with two baby showers and I just want to take a moment and thank everyone who came and ‘showered’ Jeremy and I with love and support for our little Seth! An even bigger shout out to the awesome hosts of our showers. They were simply perfect. We are very excited to start getting Seth’s room all set up and find a spot for each little thing.

Saying goodbye wasn’t all too easy. Not that it ever is. I’m blaming pregnancy hormones. Having my mom 15+ hours away isn’t the most ideal situation, but being pregnant and thinking about delivery and having our little guy so far away has definitely started to sink in. This is something I could definitely use some prayers with! Luckily and thankfully I serve the Lord who holds and knows all. I can trust that He will either give me the strength and wisdom to do this or he will supply Jeremy with an equally awesome job a little closer to family : )

Once I steal some from my sister and sister-in-law I will post some pictures of all the fun we had!

Progress!

Yesterday I went into Seth's room hoping to make a little progress and this is what I ended up with...

I guess I was on a roll : ) I just need to go through that pile of decorations and decide what's going to go where and then we can start putting together Seth's furniture! I'm so excited!

What did you do this weekend? Anything productive or fun?

Put together!

Here's some update pictures of our apartment, a little more put together than the last time!

It hasn't been a breeze moving in. There has been one headache or another with many different aspects, but I have a pretty awesome husband by my side and a sweet little baby who knows just when to kick me and make me smile <3 We obviously still have odds and ends to put out, decorations and such. I had planned on taking a little break now that I have the essentials done, but as you can see, Seth's room is a hot mess and i'm not sure I can stand waiting to get his stuff put together much longer! : ) Our schedule is pretty crazy between now and the end of the month and we are headed to NY a week from Saturday! But, I know the mess will only get worse when we come home with all that we bring back with us so I hope to get some of it accomplished before hand!

Our weekend

What a wonderful weekend we had. I don't really know what it was about it, but I felt pretty accomplished and happy each day! I was off on Friday for Seth's appointment which went well. His heart rate was in the 160's and he was kicking at the doctor : ) I have my glucose test in two weeks and then my next appointment 2 weeks after that. After that I think we will be going to having appointments every 2 weeks instead of once a month. I just can't believe how quickly this is going!!!

6 months down, 3 to go!

After my appointment I scored the jackpot. I follow mom swap and garage sale pages on facebook. This one woman posted that she had a bunch of boy clothes newborn-12 months for $30 so I snatched them. When I arrived to get them this is what she had for me!
What a blessing!!! I also got a blue bumbo seat for $5! Those things go for like $40! I'm trying not to get too much since I know we have showers coming, but these deals are hard to pass on sometimes. I've told myself to stop for now though....

We got our washer and dryer delivered on Saturday!
I think it officially makes me old that this was like Christmas to me. I can't wait for them to get hooked up today so I can start doing laundry - IN MY HOME!

Other than that we had a pretty relaxing weekend. I got us a little more settled in; Jeremy got our cable hooked up; I ordered a few 'upgrade' items for us with some gift cards i'd been saving; we paid off my car (another old feeling moment that this excited me so much lol) I had some Jamberry parties; and we just laid around and felt Seth kicking away - my favorite thing to do!

I hope you all had wonderful weekends with loved ones!

This has no title...

I was supposed to post this yesterday but I completely forgot. This is kind of a silly blog post but it's also too long for facebook so, just go with it : )

A couple nights ago we were laying in bed watching 'Friends'. For my fellow 'Friends' addicts you will probably recognize this episode right away. One of the main characters, Monica, is sent home from work because she is sick but she refuses to believe that she actually is. She continually says, "I'm fine!" "I'm fine!" But since she is all congested it sound more like "I'm find!" "I'm find!" So I asked Jeremy why they were making it sound like when you have a cold you put D's on the end of things. Then I proceeded to plug my nose and try to say fine and then Jeremy did the same. I died laughing and could not stop. Then Jeremy leaned over and asked Seth if he was ready to come out and join our crazy family : )

I love us!

Our new home!

I can't believe this is our third home since we have been married! I also can't believe this August will be our third year Anniversary! I also can't believe we will have a baby then! Time sure flies when you're having fun! We realized while moving that each time our parents come to see us we are in a new place LOL Hopefully that changes soon : )

So here it is! I should have taken pictures of it empty, but I didn't so...don't mind the mess. It already looks better than this and I will update once I get it a little more homey!

Our front door and living room...

...directly behind me in the picture above is the kitchen...it seems a bit smaller but I actually have a little more cupboard space than I did...

...the room to the left of the living room is Seth's room...
...Side note - I LOVE calling it that : ) ...

...his huge closet that he will have to share with some storage...

...he even gets his own bathroom...

...to the right of the living room is a small hallway with a linen closet and washer/dryer hookups...

...to the right is our bedroom...

...our walk-in...

...and to the left is our bathroom...

I don't know what I would do without him!

Being pregnant definitely made this move interesting. I am SO thankful that we had 4 dear friends come give us a hand in the process, so loading and un-loading only took about 2 and a half hours. Last night we put the furniture back together, got the bathroom unpacked and started the kitchen and bedroom. I wanted Jeremy to get our kitchen table put together, but then he asked me where the baggie of screws and such were that he needed...UHM?!?!? I remember putting them all in a baggie, I remember picking up the baggie, but where did I put the baggie??? I was SO mad at myself for not being able to remember. We tore open every box as I looked for some glimmer of a reminder. At least 20 minutes later Jeremy opened the drawer to our kitchen cabinet, pulled out the baggie and just starred at me. I died laughing. Yes! "I remember putting them in there because I thought it would be a great place for them to not get lost!" LOL The next three months may test his patience for my brain, but I sure do love him and all he is doing for Seth and I!
