I've known this day was coming for a couple months now, but I didn't know just how quickly it would creep up. It's absolutely insane how quickly this year went by. It feels like it's only been about 6 months since we brought our little man home. Being his Mommy has been the biggest blessing in my life and I'm so thankful that God chose me. I am constantly battling the emotions of wanting him to stay little forever, loving watching him learn & grow and being excited about all he will do in his life. Being a parent is full of bittersweet moments. Jeremy keeps saying that this stage is his favorite - that changes as each stage changes - they each become his favorite : ) While I deeply miss those newborn snuggles, I absolutely love being able to teach and play with him. He brightens our days and fills them with so much love and laughter. Other than more hours of sleep and more often date nights, I can't remember what life was like without our little firecracker!
Instead of doing my typical "photoshoot" for Seth's 1 year, I decided it would be cute to do some before & after shots!
We celebrated with friends on Saturday (pictures to come). We tried to go out for lunch on Sunday to eat the "magical" mac n' cheese that put me into labor, but they were closed. Then they were closed again for the 4th, so we are going for supper tonight : ) His birthday yesterday was spent at the beach (which I of course forgot my camera for) and then a looooong nap to recover from all the water fun. He had many skype requests and gave his blank confused stare for every birthday song sung to him. He was ready for bed at his usual time - 7pm and since fireworks weren't going to start until at least 8:30, we decided we would hold off this year, since we weren't sure how he would react anyways. Mommy has teared up a bit this week and stolen a few extra snuggles. Jeremy and I have reminisced about his newborn days and looked back at old pictures. We can't wait to see what this next year will hold for our little family!
