House updates!

We have slowly been purchasing some items that we needed to make our house a bit more homey. Once we had them all (for one reason or another, we couldn't put one into play without another), we spent the time to get them assembled and put into place! 

Seth's room got a toybox...

The dining room got a bookshelf...

And the living room got a TV stand, ottoman and a remodel! 

I love having the toys out of the living room, although they find their way back during the day. I love having the drawers on the TV stand to hide all of our movies. And I love how open our living room is now! We (and by that I mean me) look forward to adding more decorations in! 

15 months

I can't believe it! Of course, it makes it even more surreal by the fact that his little brother or sister is cooking inside of me! If you had asked me when Jeremy and I got married if I thought four years later we'd have a little boy and baby #2 on the way, I may have believed you but Jeremy probably would have fainted! LOL He just told me the other night that he can't believe he was ever scared of this : ) 

He had his checkup last week. He has gained 2 pounds and grown 2 inches bringing his results in at 25 pounds 4 ounces and 31 and a quarter inches tall. The doctor said everything looks and sounds great. He knows where his eyes and nose are. He says Mama, Dada and is the biggest chatter box in the whole world. I keep waiting for a spill of words to come out of his mouth. He is so observant and we've been working on word association when he grunts and points at things.

The other morning he had text my mom without me knowing, so we got on Skype and Grandma was asking him if he was telling her stories. He immediately got up and went to get a book and I had to read him 5 right then and there hahaha I love our storytime and when he grabs a book and plops down to 'read' it alone.

He has now started to grab his shovel (his must have bathtime toy), walk to the bathroom and said please : ) 

His Dada: 

He definitely knows when he doesn't get to see Jeremy on Monday and Wednesday and is obsessed with him on the rest of the days. I love watching their bond. I'm married to the best guy!

Hurricane Matthew

We had heard about the hurricane coming but we didn't give it too much thought. We hear about them often it seems, especially this time of year, but they always seem to be calling wolf. We haven't experienced anything more than a tropical storm since we've lived here. One that gave Jeremy some time off from work and that kept us cooped up for a few days, but that's it. 

Tuesday of last week was a normal day. I needed to get blood work done so I left home in time to meet Jeremy at the office so he could just take Seth home and I could get it done. On the way there, I heard that the Governor was going to be doing a press conference so I texted my friend and asked her to listen and let me know what was said, since I'd already be in the office. Well, she did and I received a text from her shortly after saying that the Governor was evacuating us. I got to watch a bit of it in the office as well and when Jeremy came to get Seth he heard some of it. When we got home we decided that leaving was our best option. Things are a lot different when you have a little one. If it were just Jeremy and I, it probably would have ended differently. But, with at least 5 days of time off, we decided we might as well take advantage of it and go see family. 

We left on Tuesday night around 6pm. I'm still not sure what it was, but Seth ended up getting sick quite a few times. Long story short, we didn't end up leaving until after 10pm and even then the trip was very eventful. The first few hours we only went 10mph. We thought we were going to get ahead of traffic leaving in the night versus the next day, but apparently everyone had that idea. The trip to NY and again back to SC took us about 20 hours. This has only happened one other time when we hit snow one Christmas trip. To say it was miserable, especially with Seth is an understatement. Although I must say he was incredibly well behaved. 

But, all that to say, we had a wonderful time with family. I was just complaining how far away Christmas was, so to get an unexpected trip in October was just what the doctor ordered! I left my camera at home so I didn't get any pictures : ( Seth was able to enjoy time with Graysen - the little boy that my mom takes care of. Boy they were cute together! Graysen is 2, but was born premature, so Seth is actually just a bit bigger than he is. I could have watched them play together forever. Seth even tried giving him his paccy and puppy - you know he likes you then! And of course, he got some cousin time in with the Thomas' kids! We went on a hayride one night and had a day full of playing the next day. He fell into his cousin Reece as soon as he spotted him and was the sweetest to his new baby cousin, Adelaide! There was lots of spoiling and snuggling with Grandparents. Playing in leaves (speaking of which - I haven't gotten to see fall NY leaves since we got married - it was heavenly), going for walks. I always sing the blues of how far away we live when it's time to leave and that we will need to move closer : ) 

Luckily, we seem to have brought the cooler weather back with us and there wasn't any damage when we returned. It's a little more nerve wracking when you are a homeowner!

Christmas doesn't seem so far away anymore!

Baby T

After Jeremy and I were both heartbroken by a negative pregnancy test in July, we realized we were ready for baby #2 more than we both thought we were. Little did we know just a short time later I'd be taking three positive tests! We went to the Doctor's on September 8th when I anticipated I was around 8 weeks. The baby was only measuring around 6 weeks which is exactly what happened with Seth, so they set me up for another appointment 2 weeks later to check the baby again and determine my correct due date. So, a couple weeks ago after Seth had swim lessons, I left him at the park with some of our closest friends and headed off to the Doctor. Right on track the baby was measuring at 8 weeks, 2 days and my due date is April 29th. I absolutely love getting to see our little bean grow. It's crazy how much changes in just two weeks! My Doctor calls it the teddy bear stage with their big heads and little stubs for arms and legs. 

I've been feeling good lately. Right around 5 weeks is when the nausea hits me and for Seth it lasted all the way up to 12 weeks. This time it hit me hard. I'm not sure if it was worse because I have a little one to chase around or what, but thank the Lord I've gotten relief. I'm definitely looking forward to second trimester when I will feel a bit more like myself and be able to stay away past 7PM! But, just not being sick 24/7 makes my days much more enjoyable and I feel like I can be a better mom and wife. Seth has been super snuggly lately it seems. I'm not sure if he's just changing or if he might have a sense of what's going on. Whatever the case is, I'm soaking it ALL up. 

We go back in a few weeks to check on things again! Can't wait to hear that sweet heartbeat! 

Seth Kyle Thomas

I'm so in love with being this little boy's Mommy! 

I could watch him read stories all day long - and he would read stories all day long and be completely content. He has to pull every book of the shelf to find the one he wants, then find the perfect spot to sit, make sure the book is upright and flip through all the pages while pointing at the pictures and blabbering away. 

He's 100% boy. Loves his trucks, balls of any kind and 99.9% of the time has his sand shovel in his hand, scooping anything that is scoop-able.  He goes in for his 15 month (tear) checkup next week and I can't wait to see how much he has grown! Both yesterday and today he came to me when he had a stinky diaper and "told" me....seriously? Are we here already? He keeps my days full of fun, laughter and love and I'm going to soak up this time of just him and I for as long as I get it!

Back in SC

Now that we've been home for over 5 weeks and I just finished posting about our trip, I guess I should catch up on what we've been up to here!

Seth is 14 months! He is down to taking one nap a day which varies in time but is usually in the 12-3 range. This also means that he is just getting on bottle before bed at night and drinks milk out of his big boy cup throughout the rest of the day. He loves to be independent whether it be eating his food or brushing his teeth. He is still obsessed with books and will bring you them repeatedly for story time throughout the day. He still loves to be outside and we have started taking swimming lessons with Seth's best bud and his Mommy. He loves to play on the couch and has learned the proper way to get off of it. He is also a pro at signing "Please" which is the cutest thing and makes his Mommy and Dada super proud.

Jeremy is doing well in the school year so far. He enjoys his kids and hasn't had any major issues come up yet. He has also begun taking his Masters classes, so Seth doesn't see him on Mondays or Wednesdays when he goes straight to class from work and doesn't get home until after 9pm. It's been a transition, but we know it will all be worth it in the long run!
