14 weeks

Okay, okay...I promise the next post will be about Christmas! But I had an appointment yesterday and as I started to type out a long status about it, I decided it would be better to put it right here!

This was our first "routine" appointment with no ultrasound, just a little checkup on everything so Jeremy didn't put in for the time off. I would much rather him be there for every one, just in case he is needed, but it isn't the easiest thing to get time off, especially as a teacher. It just adds more work on for him. So I went to the appointment by myself and right off the bat I knew he should have been there. As I lay on the table and the doctor couldn't find the heartbeat with their little handheld machine. She told me that she kept catching it but that they baby was moving around, but I wasn't sure if I actually believed her or not! So, she left the room to go get the ultrasound machine and I frantically tried to calm myself down. When she got back in the room, added more cold goop to my belly and put the picture up on the screen, my heart completely melted and I wished desperately that Jeremy was there! It probably isn't the best way to describe our little bean, but as I starred at the screen, there was our little skeleton baby and it was too stinkin' cute! I could clearly see the little face with the hands cupped around the little cheeks. Too much cuteness for me to handle! And of course, the little heart was just a-goin'! She explained that where the baby was hiding beneath my placenta and with it moving around so much made it difficult to catch the heartbeat with the smaller machine, but it would start getting easier now. Then she turned the volume on the machine and everything was complete when I heard the sweet little pitter patter and watched our sweet little one dance around on the screen. So much love! She took a snapshot of the screen but it didn't turn out at all, so the story will have to work this time : )

I told you it was too long for a facebook status!
