Quiet Time

I've come to the realization lately that sometimes, the things that you have a hard time finding time for, are the things that you need the most. It's really easy to say that you don't have time for something or that you are just in a season - trust me, I say both of those sentences multiple times a week, if not a day. We are definitely in a season of chaos and it's really easy for my relationships to fall to the wayside. I am so thankful that all of my true relationships have someone on the other end that understands this season that I'm in and gives me grace. They reach out to me when I need them but don't take the time to reach out to them myself. They understand that just because I'm not talking doesn't mean I don't love or need them. And as I type those sentences I am thankful for the overwhelming reminder that those apply the most to God. I am embarrassed to say how long it had been since I had made time for quiet time. I stress the word made there because I literally do have to make the time. It's not easy right now in this season and I haven't been perfectly consistent with is since I started a couple of weeks ago, but I can not tell you how wonderful it has been to talk with Him in those mornings that I get to. When I first started this book I thought about just pulling up the scripture reference on my phone, but I told myself I should really just got get my Bible. There is something magical that happens when you have a hot cup of coffee and the Bible in front of you.

I hope this post encourages you if you haven't been able to find the time for something important in your life. I hope that you give yourself grace in the season you find yourself. Make a commitment today to put the priorities in your life first and let the other things take a back seat. Whatever those may be.

Dare I say the dishes and laundry can wait until tomorrow?
