14 weeks

Okay, okay...I promise the next post will be about Christmas! But I had an appointment yesterday and as I started to type out a long status about it, I decided it would be better to put it right here!

This was our first "routine" appointment with no ultrasound, just a little checkup on everything so Jeremy didn't put in for the time off. I would much rather him be there for every one, just in case he is needed, but it isn't the easiest thing to get time off, especially as a teacher. It just adds more work on for him. So I went to the appointment by myself and right off the bat I knew he should have been there. As I lay on the table and the doctor couldn't find the heartbeat with their little handheld machine. She told me that she kept catching it but that they baby was moving around, but I wasn't sure if I actually believed her or not! So, she left the room to go get the ultrasound machine and I frantically tried to calm myself down. When she got back in the room, added more cold goop to my belly and put the picture up on the screen, my heart completely melted and I wished desperately that Jeremy was there! It probably isn't the best way to describe our little bean, but as I starred at the screen, there was our little skeleton baby and it was too stinkin' cute! I could clearly see the little face with the hands cupped around the little cheeks. Too much cuteness for me to handle! And of course, the little heart was just a-goin'! She explained that where the baby was hiding beneath my placenta and with it moving around so much made it difficult to catch the heartbeat with the smaller machine, but it would start getting easier now. Then she turned the volume on the machine and everything was complete when I heard the sweet little pitter patter and watched our sweet little one dance around on the screen. So much love! She took a snapshot of the screen but it didn't turn out at all, so the story will have to work this time : )

I told you it was too long for a facebook status!

Happy New Year!

Ok, so i'm a little late but things have been crazy around here! Actually, we haven't been here at all for the most part! We left on December 21st and just got back on the 2nd. We had a wonderful time with the Thomas family in Arizona. We had some off and on sickness spread throughout the family and the weather was cold (who knew!), but we had family all around and finally got to meet our little Arizona niece, so the trip was wonderful. I wasn't the best at taking pictures, sometimes there are just more important things, but the ones I do have still need to be uploaded and edited. So for now, I have a couple belly shots for you and a quick pregnancy update to get back into the blogging business!

I am now 14 weeks along and have a small bump which becomes much more prominent after eating...

I am trying to enjoy each pregnancy moment as it comes but I am certainly ready for some of the milestones to get here. I'm ready for my "real" bump, i'm ready to start feeling the baby (or at least knowing that what i'm feeling is in fact the baby) and I'm starting to get a little impatient about waiting to find out if we are having a little girl or a little boy! I am also super sad that ultrasounds are so expensive or in general that insurance companies only "allow" you to have so many of them before they become your full expense. It will be very hard for me to go to the doctors this week and not get to see our nugget! But i'm still very much looking forward to hearing that sweet, sweet heartbeat. The day that we flew down to AZ was my last day of week 11 pregnancy. The whole day was pretty crappy. Baby did not like flying and even after we landed my stomach was pretty unhappy. Food seemed to make it worse and then I ended up getting a migraine. I actually ended up getting 3 migraines while we were gone, which my doctor warned me may happen. I struggle with them normally anyways and with pregnancy hormones running wild, she prepared me early on that things may get worse! I would say the only reason why they are worse, besides getting 3 in one week, is the fact that you can't take anything for them! Besides that craziness, the morning that I entered my 12th week started a whole new world for me. Besides one episode which was caused from me letting myself get WAY too hungry, I have not been sick at all! What a difference that has made. We are starting to make preparations as much as we can. Moving will be happening within the next month or two, a trip to NY may be happening at the end of March, making plans for visitors this summer, then comes baby showers and then comes BABY! I have said it before, but 6 months seems like a long time until it becomes the time frame for your little one arriving. We simply can not wait!

We love our little lemon so much already <3

Christmas in the South

I know the Charlie Brown Christmas tree traditionally only has one red bulb on it, but this year it had to make room for a couple more.....

Our baby tree for our baby ornaments <3

Hopefully we can get a good deal on a tree after Christmas for next year : )

Fun in the Kitchen...

Jeremy used to skip breakfast every morning and his lunch would consist of a bologna sandwich, yogurt and an apple....but this year has been a little different! Every Sunday I usually spend some time in the kitchen and get everything set for his week.

Ham, egg and cheese muffins for breakfasts...

And a calzone ring for lunches!

What fun things have you been cooking up lately?!

New York goodies!

New York doesn't just bring family, but great friends as well. We don't get to see as many people as we want to while we are there. Our time is usually pretty limited and obviously family comes first. It's also pretty difficult for us to want to get back in the car and go to a million different places after the 20 hour trip!

But these two special ladies made the trip to come see us at my parents house and I love them dearly!

We are sorry to all the friends we didn't get to see while we were there! You know you are all loved anyways : )

There are two other pretty awesome things that New York has...

There is one thing from my childhood that I will never forget. When it's grape season you drive down the road with the windows open and smell that delectable smell......mmmmm! I was so excited to see two jars of fresh homemade grape juice waiting for me at my parents house from my cousin Mary!

And of course, Sahlen hotdogs. If you have never had one before, I am sorry. I probably won't share with you. They are literally the best hotdog in the world!

Daniel Fun!

It had been far too long since we got to see this little guy and we had a blast hanging out with him for the week! He is such a good boy!

We gave him his Christmas present while we were there...

Time for some of Bompa's popcorn!

Thanksgiving "Day"

My dad had to work on Thanksgiving Day so we celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday. I caught a few shots of Bompa and Daniel watching the parade Thursday morning though!

Look at that face!

I can't remember why we dared mom to get up and do the same thing with dad that he was doing with Daniel, but....she did it!

Stinky toes everywhere!

Lots of family time....

Coloring our tablecloth has become a tradition for us!

And of course, some turkey naps : )
