7 months!

So how about when I went to look back at Seth's 7 month pictures I had him in the same shirt! These two are Seth.....

So much similarity! I think Lucas definitely has a bit more chunk on him. We don't go back for stats until 9 months, but Lucas was just shy of 2 pounds heavier at his 6 month than Seth was!

Lucas isn't crawling on all 4's but he can get anywhere he wants to by army crawling and dragging his body behind him hahaha He loves food (obviously)! He doesn't like green beans, peas (unless they are in something), peaches or guacamole. I need to try just plain avocados though. He is eating when he wakes up and nursing before bed. He goes down around 7pm and sleeps until around 7am! Still take 2 naps a day although we are questioning if he is already ready to go to one since his second one is very short. He is desperately trying to go from laying to sitting but if put in the sitting position he does a great job staying there. Seth loves all that he is able to do. We are re-learning to be gentle. I think since Lucas is doing more Seth thinks he is tougher. I still think it'd be awesome to have a girl someday (even though the stories of how they differ make me nervous) but for now I am loving these brothers and the bond I pray continues to grow stronger and deeper.

Quiet Time

I've come to the realization lately that sometimes, the things that you have a hard time finding time for, are the things that you need the most. It's really easy to say that you don't have time for something or that you are just in a season - trust me, I say both of those sentences multiple times a week, if not a day. We are definitely in a season of chaos and it's really easy for my relationships to fall to the wayside. I am so thankful that all of my true relationships have someone on the other end that understands this season that I'm in and gives me grace. They reach out to me when I need them but don't take the time to reach out to them myself. They understand that just because I'm not talking doesn't mean I don't love or need them. And as I type those sentences I am thankful for the overwhelming reminder that those apply the most to God. I am embarrassed to say how long it had been since I had made time for quiet time. I stress the word made there because I literally do have to make the time. It's not easy right now in this season and I haven't been perfectly consistent with is since I started a couple of weeks ago, but I can not tell you how wonderful it has been to talk with Him in those mornings that I get to. When I first started this book I thought about just pulling up the scripture reference on my phone, but I told myself I should really just got get my Bible. There is something magical that happens when you have a hot cup of coffee and the Bible in front of you.

I hope this post encourages you if you haven't been able to find the time for something important in your life. I hope that you give yourself grace in the season you find yourself. Make a commitment today to put the priorities in your life first and let the other things take a back seat. Whatever those may be.

Dare I say the dishes and laundry can wait until tomorrow?

October randomness!

I was looking through my phone the other day and saw some pretty cute pictures I hadn't shared with you guys! Here's our October!

This is what happens when your 2 year old likes to nap for 3+ hours and your 6 month old usually only does for 2.

Before Lucas was sleeping through the night, this would happen after his early morning feeding! Knock on wood this isn't happening anymore!

One day Seth came up to me saying one of his "B" words, which mean SO many things. It quickly turned into 20 questions as I tried to figure out what he was trying to say. I asked him to show me and he brought me over to the fireplace. I panicked, wondering what he had done that he shouldn't have. As I looked all around, I looked up and found this....

Somehow, someway he had found that tiny hole and stuck Zuma up there! It became a pretty regular occurrence after that - where's Paw Patrol? Check the fireplace holes.....

These boys.....

When it's finally cool enough for pants and you get the cute overalls out to find he has outgrown them already...you take a picture!

We've really been enjoying our cooler days! We are ready for the germs to die and it to feel like the holidays! Seth already asks for Christmas music to be put on the TV - that isn't very popular with Dada!

Okay, lets have some fun. For those of you reading this -
what do you think these are???

One morning I watched as our bedroom curtain turned orange and looked like it was on fire. I had to go outside to see what was going on.....
Sunrises/sets are one way that God shows himself to me. Those "rays" shooting out just scream His presence.

I've started to get brave and let Seth decide if he wants to walk or ride when we go outside. He likes to run, so for a while I was making him ride, but sometimes he just needs to get some energy out. One day he said he wanted to walk, but then requested to ride about halfway through - and this is where he asked to sit.

This is happening! We still haven't gotten him a mattress yet but I can't believe my big boy is getting so big!

.......I don't know.......

Dada had a field trip and invited us to meet up with him!

I'll leave you with this sweetness. Before I started recording he was rubbing his back (Lucas was fussing).

Pumpkin Seeds

I have been wanting pumpkin seeds for a good month or more now. We also had every intention of getting a pumpkin for Seth to paint but it just didn't happen. On Wednesday (the 1st) after therapy I had to run to the bank which goes right by a church that has been selling pumpkins. They had a FREE sign out front so I stopped and got myself 5 of them lol

Seth got himself one, too : )

I got to work the next day.....

I pretty much follow this recipe here...

I seasoned with salt, garlic and a touch of chili powder this time! Since I waited so long to make them, now I get to enjoy pumpkin seeds and Christmas music together hahahaha

My Mom

I mentioned a few posts ago how being a Momma is hard sometimes. Their sweet faces, cuddles and kisses sure make everything yucky in the world melt away, but sometimes the struggle to get through a moment or a day can be burdensome! I have had a lot going on lately. Whether being related to Jeremy's work and college load, Seth's therapy sessions, keeping up with the housework, Mom life in general or my own personal things that the Lord is working on - it's just been a lot!

I can NOT - let me make sure I stress that...
CAN NOT
thank my Mom enough for all of the unloading she has listened to and all of the wonderful advice she has given me. Being far away from her is not an easy thing, but it certainly doesn't effect the amazing way that she "Mothers" me.

I love you, Mom <3
