Since I started this right after a bunch of exciting things
happened in my life, I figured I would back track a little bit to tell you about how we got where we are today!
In May of 2011 a young man walked into my church that caught my
eye. I had known him before but only knew "of him," we had
never been close. So, he came to my Sunday School class and we made
small talk. He told us that he was going to be going out of town the
next week for his brother's wedding and I wondered to myself if he
would ever be back and if i'd ever see him again. So, that afternoon
I made the brave step of requesting him on facebook! LOL Later in the
week he posted a status about how his plane had been delayed on his
way to Arizona for his brother's wedding and was stuck in the airport
for hours and hours. Well, we started facebook chatting which ended
up being for all of those hours and hours and when he had to go he
asked for my phone number. The whole time he was gone we texted back
and forth and when he returned he asked me out on a date! May 30th,
2011 he took me out for pizza and ended the evening walking through
town (it seemed like we never ran out of things to talk about~one of
the things i still love to this day). On June 6th, we officially
started dating and its been great ever since! We were pretty much
inseparable all summer long. We learned so much about each other. Countless things that we have in common! He took me golfing with him, for the
first and last time (i'm not really sure what that means lol), we
found out that we both LOVE to cook and doing it together is even
more fun than alone. We also found out that while I love the "Twilight" movies, he is not allowed to watch them with me, as he passed out IN the movie theater when he was trying to be sweet and watch the latest one with me!
I met his family and he met mine...
Reece & us! (Jeremy's nephew - well now mine too! : D
We enjoyed our freedom until the following fall came along when he
had to go back to school - in Ohio! The next 9 months were long and
trying for us but I now know what the saying "Distance makes the
heart grow fonder" really means, and its true. He came home for
holidays and breaks of course.
Us at the Zoo - Jeremy LOVES penguins!
Christmas was when he finally told me he loved me : ) I had wanted
to say it for a long time before that but I didn't want to say it
before he did. To this day i'm very thankful that he waited that long
to tell me, for many reasons. In the spring semester of college I
made a few trips to visit him.....
Me in Ohio celebrating his birthday!
.....until the final trip in May when I got to bring him home with me
forever!
Graduation Dinner!
It was like the first summer all over again, except this time I
was working. It was difficult to find time to spend together but of
course we found it.
We enjoyed hanging out with each others friends
and making many new memories together.
Sometime in June he got a call from a school in South Carolina
that wanted to offer him a teaching position. When I got out of work
that night he was there, waiting in the parking lot to tell me of his
news. We were very excited but this opened up a can of questions for
me. What was going to happen to us? Well, we talked about it and knew
that neither one of us wanted him to go without me, which in turn for
us meant that we would be getting married. So, I started planning!
Before we even announced it, and even before I actually had a ring or
a proposal. We knew it was only a couple months away that we would
have to be leaving and I had to get some thing in order in order to
be able to pull it off. On June 30th we were at my house looking for
something to eat. I looked in the fridge and saw tortillas and said
"hey, we could make quesadillas!" He said "can we use
this on the quesadilla?" I turned to look and saw him holding a
hot sauce packet that said "Will you marry me?" on it! I
covered my mouth as he got down on one knee and pulled out the most
beautiful perfect ring!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After that, we officially set the date for August 3rd,
announced it to everyone and finished the plans - while also making
moving plans such as finding an apartment (which Jeremy and his dad
made a trip to SC to do for us!), packing, getting Jeremy's teaching
license transferred and countless other things. The day finally came
and saying that it was perfect is putting it mildly. I couldn't have
asked for a better day. Every little thing was just the way I wanted
it, even if it was something I hadn't even planned for! To back track
a little bit - when we had talked about getting married during the
summer, we had no pastor that we wanted to do it so we were a little
curious as to who we would have. Jeremy ended up meeting a
really great friend who in fact was a pastor at another church. God's
timing much? Not that we should be surprised. So, we got to have a
great friend of ours perform the ceremony, have all of our close
friends and family there (minus my brother who is in the marines and
therefore was stuck in california), and an absolutely beautiful day!
L.O.V.E.
(i'll post more pictures when I get them developed : )
So, after we partied all night in celebration, we headed out the
next morning for South Carolina where we are now, enjoying "newlywed"
life! I'm decorating and organizing a new home, Jeremy is perfecting
his teacher skills and we are both exploring a big new area!
The first day in our new apartment - that he picked out without me I might add!
My sister-in-law gave me the great idea to have the Jenga game as my guestbook! So here they all are, with our cake topper and a beautiful frame that my brother and sister-in-law gave us!
That's
it in a nutshell : )

Love it :) P.S. You totally need to remove your comment verification thing on here because its annoying to leave comments!
