Jeremy and I wanted to do something special with the boys over his Spring Vacation and break out of the four walls we've been living in for the past year. Of course, zoos are always at the top of our list. We'd taken the boys to the Syracuse zoo before but they hadn't been to the one in Rochester, which based off the website looked pretty incredible! After talking with my little sister about our awesome plan and giving the boys a hotel night, I was quickly informed that her new place was literally 10 minutes away from said awesome zoo!!!!! Enough said.......
We got in Friday afternoon for an epic pizza party, had a super fun evening and then headed off to the zoo Saturday morning! They had this really awesome, HUGE wooden play area when you first go in. It will be the future home for orangutans and lemurs!

I could not believe it when I saw the zebra carcass sitting in their field. Obviously it's nature, but it seemed so bizarre to feed a zoo animal another zoo animal 😂 Come to find out, it is a decoy to help the lions feel like they are really hunting!
I loved their giraffe and zebra exhibit because you could see them if they went inside, versus just being out of luck if they weren't out.

Aunt Sami had Easter surprises for the kids, including bunny ears for Kylie and eggs for the boys - so naturally.....
The trip was just close enough that it wasn't torture with the kids. Kylie is getting better with her car rides. Their place is absolutely beautiful and we had THE BEST time! At one point Sami said something to Cody about paying more attention to Jeremy because he was so busy playing with the boys 😂 But playing with our kids is the best gift ever and there aren't many we trust to do that! Late nights with other adult conversations and games was the best change up for Mommy & Daddy too! Out of everything we did the whole week, seeing Aunt Sami and Mr. Cody was their highlight! Thank you again for hosting our crazy zoo!

We made it home just in time to have Easter dinner with my family! My mom even organized a whole egg hunt outside for them! Then, since we weren't home, we did our Easter surprises on Monday!
The boys thought these new kitchen gadgets were for their kitchen in the toy room, until we took them outside.....
Having a talented great-grandpa is the best!
